Irish Countryside

B-E-A-utiful!

Im am having such a blast here in Dublin. Yesterday after class, some of the group went to see Sex and the City in an Irish Movie theatre...and let me tell you, I have never been to such a cool theater in my life. They had a Ben and Jerrys ice cream shop as well an awesome bar in the theatre. Ive never seen anything like it. Last night, after drinking wine and playing Captin Dickhead in the lobby, we met a college Rugby team from Whales that is staying at our hostel out at a really cool pub called Turks Head. It was lots of fun.
After a long and interesting night, we had to be up bright and early at 8am to go on a tour of Ireland. The Irish Country side is absolutely breath taking. I dont think I have ever seen such beautiful sites....I took several pictures, but they hardly capture the beauty. Tomorrow is a free day, so Im really excited about having some time to explore the city on my own before we leave Monday morning. We will be leaving for Scotland at 5 am Monday morning, so tonight will be my last night out in Ireland. :( Of course I am sad, but I have a feeling I may make it back to this place one day!
I miss you all!

Cheers,
Michelle

Day 2 in Ireland

After plenty of delayed flights and turbulant air travel, I have finally arrived saftley in Dublin, Ireland. I must say, from what I have seen thus far, my long travel was well worth it. Dublin is absolutely beautiful, however, the HOSTEL that we are staying in here....not so much. I am in 4 person room with a huge window that looks out upon the city. As soon as we arrived in the city we did a little site seeing around downtime dublin...there are so many pubs and cute little cafes to grab a bite to eat....However, being the Americans that we are, we bypassed all the cute cafes and headed straight to the Buger King and McDonalds. After lunch, we returned to our hostel to find out that our water went out, which meant no shower or restrooms. Luckily, the water is working again this morning.
Last night I experienced my first Irish pub crawl...it was sooo much fun! We went to 5 authentic Irish pubs and got to drink with the locals. The Irish are such nice people...they remind me alot of southerners minus all of the hugging. I even got to experience 80's night Irish style...and let me tell you, its no Spanish Moon. After an eventful night, my first 9 am class this morning was no fun. We have class outside in a grassy area next to a beautiful church, so it definitly beats sitting in a class room.
Overall I am absolutly loving everything about Ireland...minus our hostel. I could definitely see myself living here one day. Hmmm...who knows? It could happen.
Well guys, Im off to take a nap before we go on our Guinness Beer Factory tour....ooh yes, be jealous. :) Check back for more later!

And the Journey Begins....Sort of.

Flight Delay

storm

So, my journey has begun with a 2 hour flight delay to Newark due to thunderstorms in New Jersey.....Luckily, Im here waiting in the New Orleans airport with about 10 others girls going on the trip, so lots of time to get to know one another. Im pretty certain we will catch our connecting flight to Dublin, however, our luggage may not make the flight....wonderful. :) More updates to come!
